The Rochester Community Players

Rochester Shakespeare Literary Society

The Rochester Shakespeare Literary Society (RSLS) meets on the second Sunday of each month from noon to 1:30 PM at Barrnes & Noble Booksellers (2nd floor meeting room), Pittsford Plaza, 3349 Monroe Avenue, Rochester NY 14618. Meetings are free and open to all.  NOTE: Due to Easter and Mother's Day, the meetings in April  and May will be on the third Sunday those months.

RSLS is a discussion group intended to prepare our members for upcoming productions of RCP's Shakespeare Players and other Shakespeare productions in Upstate New York and Southern Ontario (for upcoming shows, see below.)

Meetings in 2013 are anticipated to be:  January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, May 19 (tentative), June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10 and December 8.

Stratford Festival Trip with the Shakespeare Players of Rochester

August 23 to 25, 2013; The Stratford Festival, Stratford, Ontario, Canada

THREE Shakespeare Plays in three days in three Stratford theaters!
(With an option to take in two more plays, if you wish)

2 nights at Arden Park Hotel (Friday and Saturday, August 23 & 24)

3 “A” Theater Tickets ( Measure for Measure, Romeo & Juliet, Othello)
Festival Theatre Tour and Costume Warehouse Tour (Saturday morning)
Transportation by van between Rochester and Stratford

OPTION! You may, on your own, reserve tickets for two more plays on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, August 23 and 24. Chose among six other plays and musicals! That would make FIVE plays in three days.

Single person, one room: $875
Two people, one room: $675 per person
Three people, one room (triple occupancy): $625 per person
Four people, one room (quadruple occupancy): $575 per person

IMPORTANT! You must have a valid passport to enter Canada and return to the United States. There will be no refunds if you do not have a passport by the date of the trip.

$325 deposit per person to reserve a spot. NOTE: $200 of this deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE!!
Balance must be received by July 5, 2013. No refunds after July 5.

Itinerary:

Friday August 23, 2013
7:00 a.m. Depart Rochester by 12 passenger vans
1:00 p.m. Arrival at the Arden Park Hotel in Stratford to drop your luggage.
2:00 p.m. Optional production: You may, if you wish, order tickets on your own for an afternoon performance. Productions on stage at Stratford this afternoon: The Merchant of Venice, Tommy, Mary Stewart, Taking Shakespeare*
3:00-5:30 p.m. Check in to The Arden Park Hotel located 552 Ontario Street, right behind the Main Festival Theatre (5 minute walk). This 114 room property features indoor pool, restaurant, and lounge.
5:30 p.m. Enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel (part of your package)
8:00 p.m. Measure for Measure at the Tom Patterson Theatre (“A” Orchestra seating).

Saturday August 24, 2013
8:00 a.m. Full American breakfast at the hotel. (Part of the package)
9:15 a.m. Behind the Scenes “Festival Theatre Tour” at the main Festival Theatre.
10:30 a.m. Costume Warehouse Tour where guests get a photo op at the end of the tour. You may try on costumes and then have your picture taken.
2:00 p.m. Optional production: You may, if you wish, order tickets on your own for an afternoon performance. Productions on stage at Stratford this afternoon: Fiddler on the Roof, Blithe Spirits, Taking Shakespeare*
8:00 p.m. Romeo and Juliet at the Festival Theatre (“A+” Seating)

Sunday August 25, 2013
8:30 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel at leisure with vouchers in your room key envelope.
10:00 a.m. Luggage Service and check out.
2:00 p.m. Performance of Othello at the Avon Theatre (Orchestra A+ seating)
4:30 p.m. Approximate departure for home.
